Stop Being Tired of Life and Find Joy
“Find joy in everything you choose to do. Every job, relationship, home… it’s your responsibility to love it, or change it.”
― Chuck Palahniuk
I dreaded waking up in the morning to go to work and avoided going to sleep because of my anxiety. My thoughts kept me awake. It became a cycle of not wanting to wake up and not wanting to sleep.
Sleeping on the couch with the television on became normal; the noise overpowering the thoughts in my head. This was one of the few ways I could get to sleep. It kept my mind busy on something else other than my thoughts.
Misery was my company.
I was “just tired.”
Life wears you out sometimes and is difficult. Today could be the best day of your life and tomorrow could be the worst. You never know what life will throw at you.
Many are lost. We have lost ourselves and who we want to be. And many of us hurt inside. That was me not too long ago.
But the pain you are experiencing is a wake-up call. It is telling you something. That pain in your life can be a good thing. It can make you realize you need a change. It can make you realize you need to press reset on something in your life.
“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.”
If you suffer from depression and anxiety, press reset and get help. I know it’s not that easy because I’ve been there. But there is always someone who you can reach out to. Even if it’s an internet stranger. There is always someone who has been through what you are dealing with. You are never alone.
If you hate your job, press reset and figure out a way to find a different job. Work on getting out of your job whenever you can. Even little moments spent now will have a huge impact later.
Tired of being out of shape? Press reset and start exercising. Even 10 minutes a day will get you started on creating the habit. And once you create the habit, it’s much easier to stick with.
If you are miserable, CHANGE IT! Don’t wait until a crisis to change. Take control before the crisis happens.
I understand life sucks sometimes. But when it sucks all the time, you have to do something about it. Changing will be easier for some than others but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
If your life sucks all the time, you have everything to gain by changing. You have everything to gain by pushing reset on that one aspect of your life which is troubling you. Or maybe you just need to press reset on everything.
Whatever it is, start today and make a plan. Focus on not what you will do, but how you will do it. Build habits towards a better life. It is much easier to overcome obstacles with a plan.
In the past year, I pressed reset on my miserable life.
The reset button allowed me to be in the best shape of my life. It allowed me to pursue my dream career. It has allowed me to manage my mental health and has made me a better person and father.
I know it sounds cliche, but if I can do it so can you.
I pressed reset because I was sick of being “just tired.” I was fed up with being lost. Being comfortable with my misery was not acceptable anymore.
Exchanging the known for the unknown is scary. I get it. But many of you can’t continue living the known. Because it’s tearing you apart. It’s making you miserable like I was. However, the unknown can be exciting and make you feel alive again.
But you can’t worry about what may happen if you try to change, you have to think about the alternative if you don’t change. Change equals growth.
For me, the alternative was remaining in a life I hated. There was no downside to pursuing the alternative to my miserable life. So I made the choice to reset everything, and I couldn’t be happier.
You also need to understand you really do have control over your life. Once you realize this, you will wonder how you lived any other way.
Join me and push the reset button. Enjoy the next chapter of your life and stop being tired. Don’t allow your life to be miserable anymore.
You are one decision away from a different life.
